Companionship

Setting in motion what has become stuck

Together we look at what is on your mind right now. First in conversation, then with breath, silence and, if you wish, with touch. In this way, what is stuck in body and mind can become visible and begin to flow again.

Contemplative companionship & spiritual care

Conversation and looking together in times of crisis, grief, transition and questions of meaning.

Contemplative Touch

Energetic body work combining acupressure, breath and mindful touch to release blockages.

Breath & body meditation

Practices that widen your awareness of the body and lead into deep relaxation.

Length 1 to 2 hours · Place at your home or at the project house, Jakob-Stainer-Gasse 17, 1130 Vienna · Fee agreed together · Sessions in German or English

Daijihi association

Sangha and project house

Through the Daijihi association we bring the fruits of practice into society. Daijihi is a Soto Zen sangha in the lineage of Shohaku Okumura Roshi, part of the Sanshin Network and a member of the Austrian Buddhist Religious Society (ÖBR).

The project house

A place to live in a monastic rhythm and at the same time a home for people in need. Our work also includes prison chaplaincy and support for people experiencing homelessness.

Supported by dana, membership fees and the Shinkoko tea house.

About me

Shinkō Andreas Hagn

“We do not know where the dewdrop of our life will fall from the blade of grass.”

DŌGEN ZENJI

I was born in a small village in rural Austria and grew up Catholic. In 2006 I first encountered Zen practice at Genrinji monastery, and it has never let go of me. After lay ordination with Ryuten Rosenblum Roshi, I joined Shohaku Okumura Roshi’s Sanshin Zen Community in 2018 and was ordained as a priest in 2019.

I have worked as a chaplain since 2011, first in prison, then with people experiencing homelessness and in social court assistance. The sangha I founded in 2018 has grown into the Daijihi association and the project house with the Daijihiji temple.

I have two grown-up children and am a grandfather. Together with my wife I run Plantago Handels GmbH in Vienna.
